Hello, blog readers! It has been two weeks, so it’s time for a round-up of the posts that have been featured here over those weeks. Before I get to this, though, I wanted to remind you that the Jet Fuel Review‘s fifth issue is still around and is chock full of awesome art, poetry, fiction, and non-fiction. Two weeks ago, the Writing Advice post was all about outlines and what to include in them. Drawing from a post that Chuck Wendig wrote on his blog, the post discussed micro details versus macro details and what you should consider when outlining your story. The Community Discussion shone its spotlight on another Awesome Literary Thing — a bookstore porthole! In addition, we talked about some awesome and innovative bookstores. And the poem we picked to showcase was Vowels & Continents by Adam Fitzgerald.
This week, the Writing Advice post delved more into outlining. This time, I discussed my method of outlining, which entails keeping the story in your headlights and knowing what comes next. Basically, this means outlining as you write. For the Discussion post, we had a Summer Reading Redux that highlighted some “summer blockbuster” books being released this year. The poem this week was Swordfish by Andrew Hudgins. And, in his Film Corner post, Lucas discussed the film Pursued, which he called the first western noir.
