Hello everyone and welcome back! We here at JFR are excited to introduce our new editors! We’ll be starting off with Lauren Raimbault. Lauren is a Lewis University Senior studying English with a concentration in General Writing. She also mentors her peers at the university’s Writing Center. In addition to her academic pursuits, Lauren has played the violin since 2011 and currently serves as Concertmaster for the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra. She also recently began learning bass guitar and plays in her university’s jazz band. When not writing or practicing, she enjoys reading thrillers and fantasy novels, crocheting, and playing video games.

Who are you and what is your role in the Jet Fuel Review?
My name is Lauren Raimbault, and I am an Assistant Prose Editor. 🙂

What book might we find on your nightstand right now?
I’m currently reading The Woman in the Window by AJ Finn. The first fifty pages were
slow to the point that I considered putting it down, but I’m glad I didn’t!

Give us a quote from your favorite (or any) book/movie.
“…[H]ope. You cannot steal it, no matter how many times you rip from their homes and
enslave. And you cannot break it, no matter how many you murder.”

Heir of Fire by Sarah J Maas

What piece of literature can you reread over and over again?
It’s not a book, but I could (and probably will) replay The Last of Us Part II by Naughty
Dog until the day I die. Despite the controversy surrounding the game, it has such rich
characters and an incredibly complex story. Every time I play it, I pick up on something new.

If you were invited to have coffee with any fictional character, who would you most like to meet? Why?
I would definitely hang out with Nick Valentine from Fallout 4, though we’d probably go to The Third Rail and listen to some jazz rather than get coffee. He’s such a fascinating character and leaves you wondering what makes a person, well, a person. On top of that, he’s just a good guy!

Share your top five favorite pieces of writing (anything included, be it movies, books, etc.). In order from least favorite to most favorite:
5.) The Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas
4.) The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt by CD Projekt RED
3.) Coraline, directed by Henry Selick
2.) Red Dead Redemption II by Rockstar Games
1.) The Last of Us Part II by Naughty Dog
