Who are you and what is your role in the Jet Fuel Review?
My name is Hannah Tubacki and I am an assistant poetry editor and co- art and design editor.
What book might we find on your nightstand right now?
Currently, I am reading a collection of Edgar Allen Poe’s work and different author’s interpretations of them. I don’t remember the title, but you can find it at Barnes and Noble.
If you had the chance to co-write with one author, who would you choose? Why?
I would love to write poetry with Walt Whitman. He does such a good job of celebrating love, friendship, and connection in his work. I try my best to do the same as well, and I feel like we’d probably create something really cool.
Describe your perfect reading atmosphere.
My perfect reading atmosphere is somewhere that I can be alone, like a cubby in a library or my own table somewhere on campus. However, I cannot be entirely alone because I need background sounds. I struggle to focus when things are eerily silent.
What might your personal library look like?
My personal library would have to be aesthetically pleasing with many places to sit and read, ideally couches and nooks. It would be filled mostly with horror, thriller, and gothic literature, as well as a fridge stocked mostly with Dr Pepper.
Share your favorite pieces of writing (anything included, be it movies, books, etc.).
Some of my favorite pieces of writing in film are The Ritual (movie), The Fall of the House of Usher (series on Netflix), The Taking of Deborah Long (movie), Paranormal Activity (movie), and The Walking Dead. I would heavily recommend these watches if you’re looking for a scare with some good writing, these are perfect.
