Who are you and what is your role in the Jet Fuel Review?
I am Arista Brozovich, I am a junior here at Lewis, and I am assistant poetry editor.
What book might we find on your nightstand right now?
You might find “Dracula” by Bram Stoker, in the spirit of the Halloween season coming up soon!
Describe your perfect reading atmosphere.
The perfect reading atmosphere for me is when I’m cozied up in my bed, ideally at nighttime. It would be autumn, and preferably a rainy day so that it would be a bit chilly. I would have a few blankets on me, and warm lighting.
What might your personal library look like?
My personal library includes a lot of classic authors, such as Jane Austen, The Brönte Sisters, and Sylvia Plath, as well as some contemporary authors, like Rachel Yoder, and Ottessa Moshfegh. As for what it would look like, my library has been, and always will be just a stack of books sitting on the floor beside my bed!
If you could “re-make” a poorly written movie that was based on a book, what movie would it be?
I think that I would remake any of the Lord of the Rings movies. I don’t think these movies were poorly written at all, but I recently rewatched the entirety of the series, and while I love the movies, I think they leave out a lot of smaller details. So I think I would rather expand it into a mini series, in order to get the full effect of the story. Of course, I would still have Elijah Wood in the cast, because I love him.
Give us a quote from your favorite (or any) book/movie.
My favorite quote comes from one of my favorite movies that is based on the book “Call Me By Your Name”, which is “To feel nothing, so as not to feel anything – what a waste!”. I feel like this scene is such a beautiful way to begin the conclusion of the story, and each time I watch this part in the movie, it makes me cry (in a good way).
Share your top five favorite pieces of writing (anything included, be it movies, books, etc.).

- “Two Ghosts” by Harry Styles
- “Flower Power” by Greta Van Fleet
- “Bad Girls” by Blood Orange
- “Ivy” by Taylor Swift… again (I’m a huge swiftie)
