Who are you and what is your role in the Jet Fuel Review?

My name is Ragan Hrycyk. I’m a Prose Editor for Jet Fuel Review

What book might we find on your nightstand right now?

The illustrated edition of The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.

Describe your perfect reading atmosphere.

My perfect reading atmosphere would be in my room at night with my dog and something playing softly in the background, either music or a rerun of a tv show.

If you could “re-make” a poorly written movie that was based on a book, what movie would it be?

I would remake the Twilight series, but animate it.

What piece of literature can you reread over and over again?

I could reread Slewfoot by Brom over and over. It’s one of my favorite books of all time and I’ll never get tired of it.

Give us a quote from your favorite (or any) book/movie.

From The Hunger Games: “May the odds be ever in your favor.”

If you were invited to have coffee with any fictional character, who would you most like to meet? Why?

I would have coffee with Percy Jackson. I grew up reading the series, so it would just be cool to sit down and talk with him.

Share your top five favorite pieces of writing (anything included, be it movies, books, etc.).

  • Slewfoot by Brom
  • The Hunger Games: Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
  • Ratatouille (2007)
  • Wicked (2024)
  • “Evermore” from the Disney live action Beauty and the Beast
