Who are you and what is your role in Jet Fuel Review?
My name is Matthew Czaja and I’m an Assistant Prose Editor along with being the Assistant Blog Editor for Jet Fuel Review.
What book might we find on your nightstand right now?
The one book I have on there currently is Paulo Coelho’s, The Alchemist.
If you had the chance to co-write with one author, who would you choose? Why?
It would have to be J.K. Rowling. The Harry Potter franchise was a great series to read
growing up and the movies made it ten times better.
Describe your perfect reading atmosphere.
The place where I would typically read would be in a nice quiet place such as the
library and no worries about anything but where the book takes my imagination.
What might your personal library look like?
It would have a collection of both fiction and nonfiction along with having some books
that leaned more into science and fantasy while others that went into horror.
If you could “re-make” a poorly written movie that was based on a book, what movie
would it be?
The Giver would be one of the movies I would remake because the book had so many
things in it that the movie didn’t include.
What piece of literature can you reread over and over again?
Paulo Coelho’s, The Alchemist. The reason is because almost every time I would revisit
it, I would get something different out of it.
Give us a quote from your favorite (or any) book/movie.
“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” -Ferris Bueller
If you were invited to have coffee with any fictional character, who would you most like to
meet? Why?
Without a doubt it would have to be Atticus Finch. He is such a father figure while being
the main character of To Kill a Mockingbird and there would be a lot more I would
want to know about his life and how he has influenced many readers on a difficult topic
to approach.
