Good evening, readers! Here we are on the cusp of the holiday season and it’s time for another round-up of blog posts. Before we get started, I want to remind you about the latest issue of the Jet Fuel Review! The sixth issue of the Review, which boasts writers who hail all the way from Kolkata, India to San Francisco, California, is now available. I would encourage you to check out the new issue for exciting poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and art. You can even get the new issue in e-book form, for your convenience!
A few weeks ago, the Writing Advice post was about continuing writing projects, even if you’re feeling stuck. The most important thing to remember is to keep moving forward. The creation of more material means you have more to edit and work with when you come to the final product. We posted a Faculty Feature that was a profile of Lewis University Professor Bill Chura. Lewis student Paige Zander wrote this profile and it’s definitely worth a read!
That week’s Community Discussion was another Awesome Literary Things post — this time it was holiday gifts for bookish people! The featured poem that week was Clothes in the Closet by Martha Ronk. Our “Meet the Editors” post featured Linda Strahl, our Poetry Editor-at-Large. We finished up that week with another Faculty Feature, which profiled Lewis University’s Professor Mike McFerron,who works in the Music Department. Lewis student John Morrison wrote up this profile. Check it out!
This week’s Writing Advice post was all about worldbuilding, which is something most associated with the fantasy genre. But every writer can engage in some worldbuilding now and again. Our Community Discussion post was another Awesome Literary Things post — holiday gifts for writers! The latest “Meet the Editors” post profiled Caitlin Connelly, our Marketing and Development Editor. And the featured poem of the week was To Winter by Rebecca Dunham.
