Hello readers and welcome to this week’s editor’s notebook round-up! I hope you enjoyed this very full week of posts here at the Jet Fuel Review blog. Before we get to those posts, though, a bit of Jet Fuel business. Though your window of opportunity is closing, the Spring 2013 reading period for the Jet Fuel Review is still open! You have until March 15th to send in your material for consideration. You are all encouraged to send in your poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and art to be considered for publishing in the Review’s Spring 2013 issue. The week began with a Writing Advice post that reminded all of us writers to make time to write. It can be difficult with our busy schedules these days, but writing is only going to get accomplished if you set aside time to work on it. Mike’s Horror Blog covered the short story, No Strings by Ramsey Campbell. On Tuesday, the Discussion post asked what literary characters you’d most like to meet. It’s an intriguing question — leave your own literary wish lists in the comments over there!
Lauren Pirc, our Assistant Blog Editor, began a new post on Tuesday — Books on Screen. And her first post was all about the mega-hit movie, which was of course first a rather long novel, Les Miserables. Check it out! This week’s featured poem from Slate was The Fear of the Dark by Nan Cohen. Mark’s Awesome Word this week was qualia — quite an interesting one, be sure to check it out! And this week’s Fictional Friday from Lauren was all about Karen Miller’s Mages.
