Good afternoon, blog readers, and welcome to another wrap-up of recent posts. In case you’ve forgotten, the Jet Fuel Review did put out its seventh issue this past spring. If you’re looking for some new poetry, fiction, and non-fiction to read, be sure to check out this latest issue. In this issue we are very excited to publish the work of such writers as Yvonne Higgins Leach and Michael Anania as well as other authors and artists from around the world. This issue is even available as an eBook, which you can download HERE. Now, onto this week’s round-up.

In terms of Writing Advice posts here at the blog, we’ve had  a few different topics in recent weeks. First we had a post all about breaking your novel into shorter scenes, to make the project seem more manageable. If you sit down and feel intimidated by how much work you have to do on your longform writing project, try breaking it into smaller sections.

We also had a post about listening to your characters. It may seem like a strange piece of advice, but your characters can tell you a lot of useful information about themselves and about your story. Finally, just this past week, we had a bit of advice on getting through the honeymoon period with your writing idea. Though it can be difficult to do so, sticking with your story past the idea phase can be very rewarding.

The blog has also seen several installments of Awesome Literary Things in recent weeks. We have covered awesome bookstores, the booksellers who own those bookstores, and what your dream home library might look like. If you have opinions or thoughts on any of these topics, be sure to check out the posts and leave a comment!

Finally, in terms of featured poems, we have recently included What the Neighbors Know by Melane McCabe and Needle and Thread by Dorianne Laux.

I hope you’ve enjoyed these recent posts, and that you enjoy our posts in the weeks to come!
