We stared off last Monday with some more Writing Advice from Margaret Atwood. This time the advice was all about inspiration and how to be prepared for it to strike at any time, and in any place. The Community Discussion post on Tuesday covered a new, bookless library that is being developed and built near San Antonio, Texas. This is a really interesting topic and we’ve already had some great comments discussing this new development in the world of libraries. So head on over to that post and weigh in! This week’s poem from Slate was If a Marriage Is a Duel at 10 Paces, by Traci Brimhall.
Mike’s Horror Blog talked about a short story entitled Rain Falls by Michael Marshall Smith. In Lucas’ Film Corner this week, Lucas talked about his disturbing experience watching Wake in Fright. At the end of the week, Liz’s News of the Books returned with an unearthed essay by Agatha Christie that reveals, among other things, the author’s annoyance with her own Poirot. And Mark’s Awesome Word for this week was scalawag.
