Hello, blog readers! I hope you’ve all been having a great couple of weeks. If you’ve been reading the blog, then you know that we’ve had a lot of our bloggers return this past week! Before we wrap-up what we’ve been covering recently, I want to remind you all about the newest issue of the Jet Fuel Review! The Jet Fuel editors worked very had to put together this latest issue last semester. If you’re looking for some new and interesting poetry, fiction, or non-fiction to read, be sure to check out this latest issue. And if you’re interested in submitting to the next issue, you can check out our submissions page. The current submission period is open until March 15th.

In terms of our regular programming, we had a Writing Advice post about trying out a new writing environment. It might help your creativity to get out and about and write somewhere new. As a follow-up, there is a discussion thread up right now about getting away from your desk. Check it out and share your comments! We also had an advice post covering the concept of “book adultery,” in which you might want to abandon your current project in favor of something new. We also have a discussion thread about this topic, so go and share your thoughts about sticking with your current project, or about jumping to a new one!

We also featured some poems in the past few weeks. These included The Body Is a Big Sagacity by Erin Belieu, and Dynamic Response of Multi-Layered Soil Media in the Frequency Domain by Rebecca Foust.

As I said, many of our old bloggers returned this past week. Film bloggers Mike Egan and Miguel Gonzalez returned to cover some interesting concepts. Mike wrote about Chris Pratt’s recent star power. Miguel wrote about the controversy surrounding this year’s Oscar nominations. Sabrina Parr continues her “book corner” posts this semester. This week she wrote about The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. Jessica Jordan began a new series of blog posts about phobias. This week she covered hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia. You should check out the post to learn what that means! And Kelly Lyons has begun her “Book Bucket List” posts with Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell.

I hope you’ve enjoyed our recent posts here at the blog. Stay tuned for more awesome posts!

— Jet Fuel Blog Editor, Mary Egan
