Jake Johnson
Happy Friday, readers! We have a brand new blogger for you to meet this week, and his name is Jake Johnson. Perhaps you already caught the playlist he and Michael Lane have curated this week, or maybe you read his review of Carly Rae Jepsen’s E•MO•TION. Today, however, we’re going to be focusing more on him and less on his musical taste.
Jake is currently a sophomore at Lewis University, majoring in Public Relations. One day, he hopes to serve under one of his many favorite musicians as a PR representative. In the meantime, he’s content with serving tables at his waiting job. Lover of all things music related, Jake is the new music blogger for the Jet Fuel Review blog, and you will rarely be able to catch him without headphones in. If you do happen to, he’s likely hanging out with his friends, avoiding his homework, or re-watching “Parks and Recreation” for the umpteenth time.

Who are you and what is your role in the Jet Fuel Review?
My name’s Jake Johnson and I’m a sophomore here at Lewis. I’m currently writing music reviews for the Jet Fuel Review blog.
What book might we find on your nightstand right now?
If I’m being honest, likely one of my textbooks. I don’t really actively read during the school year as much as I’d like to.
If you had the chance to co-write with one author, who would you choose? Why?
R.L. Stine because I grew up on his books, and for nostalgic reasons.
Describe your perfect reading atmosphere.
My ideal atmosphere would be a nicely lit bookstore or coffeehouse. Somewhere that’s calm and where I can actually get involved in the book I’m reading.
What might your personal library look like?
My personal library is filled with the books I read as a child, ones from school, and a few other classic novels. I’m not a big reader, but I always try to borrow books from friends to expand my library.
If you could “re-make” a poorly written movie that was based on a book, what movie would it be?
I’m not a big fan of the first Hunger Games movie, I feel it could’ve been executed much better and could include many more details from the novel.
What piece of literature can you reread over and over again?
As cliché as it is, I really do enjoy reading The Great Gatsby. I love the pacing and the way the plot unfolds.

If you were invited to have coffee with any fictional character, who would you most like to meet? Why?
Lisa Simpson, I feel like it’d just be a genuinely intriguing conversation, especially since she understands the world more at 8 years old than I do being almost 20.
