China McDonald
Hello happy blog readers, and welcome to Friday! Of course, we have another new editor for you to meet. This week, we have China McDonald, who is a Fiction and Copy Editor for the Jet Fuel Review. China is currently a junior at Lewis University. She is majoring in Journalism with a minor in Spanish and Political Science. When China was younger, she couldn’t stand the thought of reading books, but then one year it became her life. Now she reads every single day and has published a story that’s still in progress on FictionPress.
China hopes one day to become a popular author and journalist. When she’s not reading, she’s watching “Scandal” on Netflix or some type of anime show. She’s obsessed with dogs and has two Alaskan Malamutes named Summer and Winter. She loves spending time with animals and doing research about them. One day, she hopes to have a nice house filled with crazy children and cute puppies.

Who are you and what is your role in the Jet Fuel Review?
I am China McDonald and my role is the Fiction and Copy editor.
What book might we find on your nightstand right now?
Maximum Ride by James Patterson, all of those books.
If you had the chance to co-write with one author, who would you choose? Why?
Co-write? Oh my gosh…James Patterson or Delaney Diamond. Love them both, love their style.
Describe your perfect reading atmosphere.
Music on with my Beats headphones playing Spotify. Lights are dim and I’m the only one in my room.
What might your personal library look like?
My personal library would have tons of interracial romance (Is that weird? Maybe, I don’t know, I’m a sucker for those). Sometimes wolves or bear themes are involved, but it can’t be too kinky.
If you could “re-make” a poorly written movie that was based on a book, what movie would it be?
A poorly written movie based on a book. Fifty Shades of Grey, I was disappointed with the movie. I read all of the books before the movie was even considered and when it came out I didn’t even watch until my best friend made me. And I wish I never saw it. It wasn’t that great, didn’t do the book justice.
What piece of literature can you reread over and over again?
I can reread the Alex Cross books over and over, and I have. Also any book I ordered for my Kindle.
Give us a quote from your favorite (or any) book/movie.
“Oh yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it.” Know where that’s from? The best movie ever! The Lion King!
If you were invited to have coffee with any fictional character, who would you most like to meet? Why?
Book wise, any from my Kindle. And it has to be iced coffee. Why? I don’t know, I’m just obsessed with it.
