I’m pleased to announce that the 10th issue of the Jet Fuel Review is now live!
In this, our 10th issue, you will find a dedication to our beloved former editor, Lucas Boelter, who passed away this year. The cover artwork for issue #10 is entitled “Discovery 2,” and it was created by Deborah Stevenson. Featured poets include Danielle Pafunda, Jason Koo, Brenda Cárdenas, Sara Tracey, and Ruth Madievsky. Because this is our 10th issue, we have a special section dedicated to the best work from each of the past ten issues. This issue’s editor’s pick is “Nesting Dolls” by Ruth Madievsky.
If you’re in the Chicagoland area, there is a special launch event taking place at Lewis University. Today, December 3, from 2:00 to 3:15, editors and faculty advisors of the journal will gather in room DL 250 to read from the new issue. Selected work from the 10th issue will be read by Br. James Gaffney (President), Dr. Jason Keleher (Chemistry), Dr. Chuck Crowder (Physics), Dr. Jackie White (English), Dr. Jamil Mustafa (English), Dr. Simone Muench (English) as well as some of our editors.
We hope that you’ll join us to view artwork by Lewis student Larissa Barnett and Lewis alum Jenny Chi as well as other national artists, in addition to hearing a variety of excellent work from writers across the world, including our own Lewis student Kaileen Beckman.
Of course, if you can’t make it to Lewis University, you can still read and view our 10th issue at the Jet Fuel Review website. I hope you do check out this issue because it’s a milestone issue for us and I think the editors have all done a truly wonderful job. Here’s to another 10!
