In the past few weeks, I have written a few writing advice posts. When the year first began, I wrote about getting a fresh start on your writing projects. It can be tough to get started again after taking a break or after the holidays have passed. Check out this post if you need inspiration to get started again. Next, I wrote about the middle of your story — one of the most challenging parts. If you’re stuck in the middle and feeling unsure of how to continue, check out the post. Finally, I wrote about maintaining perspective about your story’s first draft. Take the first draft to have fun and play around, and then you can polish it up later.
Just in case you missed it, Michael Lane wrote up his “Top 5 of 2015,” which encompassed horror films, comics, and video games. This is a great list to check out if you’re looking for some horror-related recommendations. Michael also wrote a review of Quentin Tarantino’s latest release, “The Hateful Eight.” Check out the review before you go see this new film!
In the music department, we have a new blogger here on the Jet Fuel blog. Daniel R. Fiorio will be writing music reviews in his “Basement Dwelling” posts. The first installment of these posts includes a review of David Bowie’s final album, “Blackstar.” It’s a moving tribute to the legendary musician we recently lost. Be sure to check it out! In addition, there is a new Jet Fuel Jukebox post.
Of course, we’ve featured a few poems here on the blog as well. We have featured Instructions for Modern Graffiti by Camille Rankine, Cairbre & Bres the Beautiful by Ron Smith, and Glorious Particles in the Atmosphere Aflame by Dean Young.
