Hello readers and welcome to this week’s round-up of posts. We certainly had a full week! I hope you’re all enjoying the warmer weather if, in fact, things are warming up where you are. If not, spring is undoubtedly on its way! Enough talk about the weather, let’s dig into what we posted this week at the Jet Fuel Review blog.
We started off the week with a Writing Advice post that talked about boosting your creativity. These tips and tricks from LifeHacker might just help if you’re feeling that your writing has been bland as of late. This week’s Discussion post focused on one of our Awesome Literary Things: reading nooks. If one of your life’s ambitions is to have your very own reading nook in your home, check out this week’s Discussion post and share your reading nook fantasies in the comments!
In the Books on Screen post for this week, Lauren talked about book-to-screen adaptations that she believes need to happen. Lauren included BioShock, Wicked, and the Batman: Arkham stories in her post. What adaptations would you like to see?
This week’s poem from Slate was History by Angie Estes. Be sure to check out the audio version of that poem. In his Horror Blog this week, Mike talked about the short story Calcutta, Lord of Nerves by Poppy Z. Brite. Mark’s Awesome Word of the week was soporific. Liz’s News of the Books this week tackled the topic of contemporary fiction. Is it really that great? Well, Liz doesn’t think so. Check out the post for her opinions and beware if you’re a fan of Yann Martel or Jonathan Franzen!
In the Fictional Friday post this week, Lauren discussed the new TV series, Under the Dome, which is an adaptation from a Stephen King novel. And, finally, the fourth installment in the Sherlock Holmes serial that Linda Strahl is writing was posted just this morning.
