Happy Friday, everybody! The school semester is quickly coming to a close, but we still have new editors for you to meet! This week we have assistant blog editor Gina Capperino.

Gina is a senior nursing student at Lewis University. During the semester, she works as a CNA, where she lends her ear out to veterans so often that she thinks it still is the Korean War. She hopes to work as a healthcare blogger or harass politicians to change healthcare policy. In her free time, she likes to explore the world and participate in risky sports that disqualify her from getting life insurance.

Below is our Q&A with Gina:

Who are you and what is your role in the Jet Fuel Review?

My name is Gina Capperino and I am a blog and fiction editor for Jet Fuel.

What book might we find on your nightstand right now?

Nursing textbooks and more magazines nowadays… I like to see how other newspaper and magazine writers introduce a story.

If you had the chance to co-write with one author, who would you choose? Why?

Jodi Picoult, because I feel like she does a good job of integrating emotion, relationships, and medical and legal circumstances into one awesome book.

Describe your perfect reading atmosphere?

I’m a cozy blanket and fireplace kind of girl.

What might your personal library look like?

Jodi Picoult, Anita Shreve, and Dean Koontz

If you could “re-make” a poorly written movie that was based on a book, what movie would it be?

I’m easily impressed and I don’t think that a lot of movies were done too poorly. I can’t think of any.

What piece of literature can you reread over and over again?

I’m not that type of person. I need a change-up. However, if I don’t get something, then I have to reread it again.

Give us a quote from your favorite (or any) book/movie.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower: “Please believe that things are good with me, and even when they’re not, they will be soon enough. And I will always believe the same about you.”

If you were invited to have coffee with any fictional character, who would you most like to meet? Why?

I personally would like to meet any of the girls from The Help or The Secret Life of Bees because I’m all for strong women.

Now you know yet another one of our editors! Come back next Friday to “meet” another editor!
