Welcome, readers, to this week’s recap of the Jet Fuel Review’s blog posts. We’ve had some great posts this past week and we hope you enjoyed them! First I wanted to take the opportunity to invite you to the launch of the Jet Fuel Review’s Spring 2013 issue! While it won’t be happening for a few weeks, I thought I would let you know the date of the event now. On Thursday, April 25th, JFR’s Spring 2013 issue will be released during an event on the Lewis University campus. While you’re waiting for the new issue, feel free to check out the Jet Fuel Review‘s website for past issues. And now, on to the blog posts!
The week began, as it usually does, with a Writing Advice post. In this post, I took some inspiration from Chuck Wendig, who advised his blog’s readers on getting unstuck in a story. The Community Discussion this week covered the news that Amazon will be acquiring Goodreads, the social networking site for bibliophiles. What are your thoughts on this acquisition news? Feel free to share in the comments!
In her Books on Screen post, Lauren talked about The Great Gatsby, which is the latest classic to receive a modern adaptation. In his Film Corner post, Lucas discussed three documentaries by Frederick Wiseman, all of which sound very interesting. Mark’s Awesome Word this week was pithy, which is — aptly — a word that can also be used to describe his post. In the Fictional Friday post, Lauren discussed A Tale of Two Cities, one of Charles Dickens’ most well-known books. And just this morning, the fifth installment of Linda’s serial story that features Sherlock Holmes and zombies, was posted.
