Hello, readers! This is our last new editor for the semester!
Keanu Taylor was born in Memphis, Tennesee before later moving to Kankakee, Illinois in 7th grade. Taylor studies English with a concentration in creative and professional writing at Lewis University, but she’s minoring in print and online journalism.
Taylor noticed her love for writing at a very young age, and she is eager to be in an environment that has a goal of making her a stronger writer. Taylor describes herself as a “walking contradiction” because she is not very vocal, yet she is very loud. She loves making people laugh with her sarcastic humor, and she keeps the joke going until she gets some sort of laughter. Taylor’s hobbies include cheerleading, Track & Field, horror film bingeing, and collecting stuffed monkeys. She plans to be the proud owner of an actual monkey in future.

Who are you and what is your role in the Jet Fuel Review?
My name is Keanu Taylor (a lot of people call me “Canoe”) and I am the Assistant Communications Manager as well as the Assistant Web Designer for Jet Fuel Review.
What book might we find on your nightstand right now?
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
If you had the chance to co-write with one author, who would you choose? Why?
J.K Rowling or Harper Lee. I enjoy both of their writing styles.
Describe your perfect reading atmosphere.
In my bed with a bunch of snacks, with my Christmas lights soothing me in the background. I also need the Disney Channel or soft music playing in the background
What might your personal library look like?
My personal library probably has a big mix of poetry, creative fiction, fantasy, and some hopeless romantic novels. Also, Titanic would definitely be in there along with some animated movies and Disney movies as well.
If you could “re-make” a poorly written movie that was based on a book, what movie would it be?
Twilight. I loved the book and I also loved the movies that followed after, but Twilight was the weakest of the saga.
What piece of literature can you reread over and over again?
I could read To Kill A Mockingbird over and over again and still be surprised and excited.
Give us a quote from your favorite (or any) book/movie.
I am very obsessed with Finding Nemo, so it would have to be: “Morning. It’s morning, everyone! Today’s the day! The sun is shining, the tank is clean, and we are gonna get out of… (gasp!) THE TANK IS CLEAN!”
If you were invited to have coffee with any fictional character, who would you most like to meet? Why?
Probably Dory from Finding Nemo/Dory. She just cracks me up and I think a simple coffee shop visit would turn into an adventure.
