Welcome to another editor’s notebook round-up post! I hope your week has been a great one and I hope you’ve enjoyed our posts this week. Firstly, though, I’d like to remind you that the Spring 2013 reading period for the Jet Fuel Review is currently open. The reading period will be open until March 15th. As always, the week started off with some writing advice. This week it came from Elmore Leonard and his 10 rules of writing. Description in stories can be a tough thing to tackle, but hopefully this advice from Leonard will give you some guidance. Lucas’ Bibliophilia post this week was all about An Essay, Medical, Philosophical, and Chemical on Drunkenness, and Its Effects on the Human Body — basically, it was about the connection between spontaneous human combustion and the temperance movement. It’s fascinating read, so go check it out!
This week’s discussion centered on the idea of the writing routine. Some of us have them and some of us don’t, but whatever your position on regimented writing, we’d love to hear your opinion!
