Hello, blog readers! Welcome to another wrap-up of what we’ve been posting recently. In Writing Advice, I have recently focused on critiques. Not sure what you need to look for in a critique? Wondering what you need to do to get the most out of a critique? Check out the post! Our featured poem this past week was Even the Ohio Can Change, by Rick Campbell. In recent weeks, Sabrina Parr has written and posted two book reviews on the blog. First she reviewed Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. She also reviewed Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard.
Our film blogger, Mike Egan, has written two posts recently. He wrote an interesting review of Kingsman, a recently released film that parodies old spy films. Check out the post to see if Mike thinks the parody worked well. He also wrote an analysis of the Australian horror film, The Babadook. Check out that post to see the secret message hidden in what might seem like a simple, scary film.
Michael Cotter, author of our “What Are You Watching?” series, has contributed two new posts recently. First he discussed Ringer, a CW show that starred the brilliant Sarah Michelle Gellar. This past week, Michael wrote about one of my personal favorites, Gilmore Girls. Dominique Dusek uncovered the history of another author in her “Before They Were Famous” series. This time it was Harper Lee, author of To Kill a Mockingbird. Finally, Michael Lane wrote about the secret scariness of I Saw the Devil.
